Philosophy

Qigong on beachHumankind is a product of millions of years of evolution yet, increasingly, we live in a society that is separating itself from nature - the natural order of things. The Universe is in a constant state of change but it continues to exist because of its inherent harmony - its dynamic state of balance.

We, as children of the Universe, are no different; chapter 48 of the Tao te Ching:

The world is ruled by letting things take their course.
It cannot be ruled by interfering.

Whether it is diet, air quality, radiation, exercise, emotions, stress, genetically modified humans or plants, medication and drugs, or environmental change, we are becoming more unbalanced - this separates us from nature and thus results in illness and general disease to both us as individuals and to our society as a whole.

The Daoist philosophy of ancient China offers a contemporary remedy for this. Acupuncture, T'ai Chi and Herbal remedies are all aimed at stimulating our inherent healing energies, our Qi, thus restoring our inner balance and increasing our general state of wellness, both physical and mental.
